Hello, its “The Kid”, “The Youngster”, “The Best Looking Guy In The Band”, whichever you prefer to call me. I have had the longest music career in the band clocking in at just less than 4 years. I started playing guitar on my dad’s old Yamaha F-310 when I was 17 and I have felt a connection with music ever since that day. As a senior in high school I started a cover band called Buck & Biscuit with my older cousin, Nick Francois, in my hometown of Alexandria, La. After playing our first gig to a roaring crowd of 14 people (8 of which were our family) I fell in love with performing live. After I graduated high school I started college at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. I had no music contacts in the city so I decided I would start playing different open mic nights to get a feel for the Baton Rouge music scene. Nick had an Army buddy who owned a bar called Heaux Jeaux’s on the south side of town so I went to play at their open mic night run by Lynn Anselmo. I went to check it out and instantly felt welcome after playing my cover songs. As soon as I was done someone asked me if I had any original songs to play, which I did. It was my first time playing them in front of people and I loved the connection it gave me with the crowd. After my set was done, Jim Standley came and told me that he loved my songs and was very impressed. I began to go to Heaux Jeaux’s every Wednesday to play my songs. Just down the highway another bar, Fat Cat’s, had an open mic on Sunday nights. Nick and I decided to go check it out and that is where I met Jim George who was playing drums for the house band. After our set, which we rocked, I got Jim’s contact information since we occasionally needed a fill-in drummer. A few months later I called him and Jim Standley to play a show on a Sunday evening. Little did I know that all of us, with the addition of Bill Grass, would be playing in an original band a year later. After Jim S. came to me with the idea of The Void I was sold. We recorded our album at Da Refuge, run by the crazy S.O.B Randy Porter, and now have the quintessential rock band! I can truly say these guys are some of the best musicians that I know. Great things are on the horizon and the best is yet to come!
